I really need to get back to digital painting
Ok, I was looking back at all my old drawings and noticed not a great tendency. There are some of them that I thought are ok. Which for an “artist” is never a good thing in my opinion. It just means that I’m not evolving in any way.
Which shouldn’t be a surprise though. I haven’t painted/drawn in Photoshop for a while. I have an excuse. I work a lot now and also for certain reason try to avoid being in front of computer as much as I can. Because my job actually requires me sitting in front of it for a big part of day. But anyway we all know that there are no excuses really for not doing what you love. And I’m really craving to paint right now.
And I guess I am at the point where I actually need to get back to this. And I want to. I still have quite a few works in progress that I had before. Some of them I started more than half a year ago. And I’m still very excited about them. I even feel that if I’ll be able to finish them decently they can bring me on the whole new level.
But to do so I need to work really hard on them and to go really far from my comfort zone. Which is scary. The hard part on all of those WIPs is the background and environment of course. I guess this will always be my big struggle.
I’ve seen many tutorials on backgrounds, and it always seems so easy when you watch them. But everytime I’m trying to do that myself it just doesn’t come together. But if you have any good tutorials on digital painting please throw a link at me :) There are never too much of tutorials.
So this is what I’m planning to work on. I hope I’ll have time for painting this weekend. Looking forward to it.
